I’m 36.5 weeks pregnant!
Which means, Baby Waite #5 will be joining our family in the very near future! It’s starting to get real people! I should probably think about packing the hospital bag. Maybe wash the cloth diapers? How about folding the baby clothes and moving them into a drawer instead of stacked in a laundry basket in my closet. Obviously, there is still a lot to be done.

One of my favorite things that I’ve done with each of my babies is a “baby betting pool”. There are several online options for setting up a pool, where people can guess when they think the baby will come. You can also log your guess for time, weight, length and (since we are Team Green!) gender! In the past, I’ve opened this pool up to our friends and family, but this time I’m inviting my Claire Waite Photography family to join in as well! And, as with all good contests, there is a prize! A $50 Amazon gift card will be awarded to the winner.
So, if you are game to enter, head to our baby betting pool and submit your guess before September 30th. And just so you can make the most “educated guess” possible, here’s a little info about this pregnancy compared to past pregnancies!
- All of my babies have been late. Cecelia was born at 42 weeks exactly. Eva was born at 40 weeks 5 days but was an emergency c section. No contractions, I wasn’t in labor. Turner was born at 41 weeks 6 days. Lincoln was born at 41 weeks 5 days.
- Cecelia was born at 7:42am, weighing 7 lbs 15 oz and 20.5 inches long.
- Eva was born at 1:54pm, weighing 6 lbs 10 oz and 20 inches long.
- Turner was born at 6:28am, weighing 8 lbs 5.5 oz and 21 inches long.
- Lincoln was born at 2:29am, weighing 7 lbs 11 oz and 20 inches long.
- I have been sicker with my girl pregnancies than my boy pregnancies, but the sickness lasted longer with my boys than with my girls. This time around, I threw up until 23 weeks and stopped anti-nausea meds at 32 weeks.
- With my girls, I was super irritable and had crazy mood swings during the first trimester. With my boys, my mood was much more level all throughout. This time around I didn’t have the crazy mood swings, but I’ve been super irritable from day one and still am! Eek. Not my favorite thing to admit to.
- My babies’ heart rates have fallen in line with the old wive’s tales. My boys have had lower heart rates than my girls. This baby is consistently in the 140-150 range for heart tones.
- My girls “stole” my beauty. I had lots of breakouts and limp, lifeless hair. With my boys, my skin glowed and no breakouts. My hair was thicker and healthier than ever before. This time around, I feel like I’ve had more breakouts but my hair is decent. Not quite as great as with my boys, but not nearly as brittle as with my girls.
- I feel like I carried my girls differently than my boys, but it could just be my imagination. Here’s some photo evidence if you choose to use it to help make your decision! But no judging. I’m a much cuter pregnant lady now than I have been in the past! The top photo is me meeting Leandro Barbosa, former Phoenix Suns player at 40 weeks pregnant with Cecelia. Second row, 40 weeks pregnant with Eva in the maroon shirt, 38 weeks pregnant with Turner in the orange shirt. Bottom row, 37 weeks pregnant with Lincoln in the navy blue swimsuit, 35 weeks pregnant with this baby in the white shirt.
So there you have it! All the information I can think of to help you make your guess! If you can think of anything else you’d like to know, leave a comment below and I’ll get back to you. I can’t wait to announce that this little one has arrived and find out who has the closest guess. Be sure to follow me on Instagram as that will be where the first place I announce the baby’s arrival.
