Hello, September!
I know it doesn’t really mean fall in Arizona, but it does mean the cooler temperatures are closer. I hope. It’s been a long, hot summer with 50+ days of temperatures reaching 110 or higher. If nothing else, I’m ready for cooler nights and mornings, even if the temp does soar during the day.
August was good to us though! Heatwave and all. Lots of things to love about August.
Scott and I celebrated 15 years of marriage. Whaaaat!?! How are we even old enough for this!? Our celebration wasn’t anything spectacular. We went to the dentist, put a new transmission in our minivan, then went to the lake with our kiddos. A little bit different than last year when we celebrated by watching the sunset from above the clouds atop a Hawaiian volcano. Some years are epically romantic. Some years are real life. But no matter what, I love celebrating each passing year with my guy. I lava him lots!
Baby chicks and ducks!!! We’ve added to our backyard farm and oh. my. goodness. Baby chicks and ducks just make everything right with the world. And I might have done a photo shoot with the ducks…
We went on a quick weekend getaway with one of my besties and her family. Cooler temps, a new plant bought at the farmers market and so. much. good. food.
I photographed the CUTEST newborn with a full head of gorgeous hair. I’ll be sharing images from his session soon. It was amazing!
My kiddos started school. In person! After a 6 month long Spring Break, this taste of normalcy was very welcome. There is a light in their eyes that I have missed seeing. They are so excited to be with their teachers and friends, even if it does mean wearing a mask.
I get to meet my newest nephew!!! I cannot wait to snuggle him and take a bazillion photographs of him. Give or take a few.
My baby boy is turning 8 and getting baptized!
And finally, I think it’s time to break out Hocus Pocus and my Magnolia Fall candle. Oh, and my family Halloween station on Pandora. Basically, I’m pretending it’s fall, even if the weather doesn’t cooperate!
