Scott and I met in September of 2003. I was a brand new Spartan at Michigan State University (Go Green!). He was serving a 2 year mission for our church. We ran into each other in the cereal aisle of the grocery store. He and his mission companion were shopping for Special K with Red Berries. My roommate and I were shopping for a college essential- brownie mix. We recognized the missionary names tags and took a minute to introduce ourselves. I wish I could tell you it was love at first sight, but it was not. Don’t get me wrong, I thought he was cute! But I had a boyfriend, he was on a mission, the story ends there.
The full story is a bit longer and quite the whirlwind. I am thinking I need to take the time to write it all out soon. Just know that it ended with a happily ever after wedding day at the Mesa Arizona LDS temple and I’ll fill you in on the rest of the details soon! But for today, let’s celebrate 13 years of wedded bliss with some blast from the past photos.
As I spent some time yesterday watching our wedding video and looking through 13 years of pictures, I really enjoyed reliving the memories that we captured on camera. From trips to traditions, milestones to everyday moments, the photos that I’ve taken and saved over the years are truly treasures. I did notice something interesting though… for being a professional photographer and preaching the importance of family pictures, in particular, photos of mom and dad alone together, I am not good about getting pictures of just Scott and I! This has been noted and you better believe I will be correcting this problem in the years to come.
So without further adieu- from our wedding day on August 12, 2005 through this past May, one photo for each of our years together!
